Carpinteria's new Short-Term Rental (STR) regulations went into effect July 1, 2017

What's the same?

  • A license is required to operate both kinds of STR (30 days or fewer) in a Residential Zone:
    --Vacation Rental-VR - (owner on-site)
    --Home Stay-HS - (owner on-site)
     

  • Any STR in a Commercial Zone requires a permit

Key Deadlines

The City is currently accepting applications for Short-Term Vacation Rentals in VROD areas A, B and C.

The City is accepting Home Stay applications in all residential zones.

TOT remittance forms are due as follows:
